NAP Competition — Scoring Rules
Clear, simple, and the same for everyone.
How the leaderboard is ranked
- Winners are always ranked first.
- Within winners (and within non-winners), highest score wins.
- If there’s still a tie, earliest entry wins (createdAt).
Score formula
score = base points + odds bonus
Odds bonus = decimal odds − 1 (rounded down to a whole number)
Example: 3.00 decimal → bonus = 2. 21.00 decimal → bonus = 20.
Base points (only if your selection “places”)
How many places count?
- 2–4 runners: Win only (1st)
- 5–7 runners: 2 places (1st–2nd)
- 8–15 runners: 3 places (1st–3rd)
- 16+ runners: 4 places (1st–4th)
Points for finishing position
- 1st = 10 pts
- 2nd = 5 pts
- 3rd = 3 pts
- 4th = 1 pt (only in 16+ runner races)
- Anything else = 0 pts
VOID / abandoned / no result
If your selection is marked VOID, it scores 0 points.
Examples
- Winner at 2.00: 10 + (2.00−1=1) → 11 pts
- Winner at 21.00 (20/1): 10 + (21.00−1=20) → 30 pts
- 2nd at 11.00 (10/1): 5 + (11.00−1=10) → 15 pts
Monthly leaderboard
The monthly leaderboard is the sum of your daily NAP scores across the month.
Tie-break rule (important)
If two or more users finish level (including picking the same runner), the winner is the earliest submitted entry.
